Seasons
Digimon
was a
Japanese Anime from the nineties that was eventually dubbed in the
United States. It featured a group of children and a race of powerful
creatures called Digimon.
The
first
Digimon series was Digimon Adventure. It featured a group of kids at
Summer Camp who got transported to the Digital World. There they each
bonded with a Digimon. The children were able to to Digivolve their
Digimon to their In-Training and Champion levels. This allowed the
children and their new digital friends to fight off evil Digimon. The
children soon learned that they were the DigiDestined. They
received the Crests that allowed their Digimon to Digivolve into their
Ultimate forms. Eventually, they found themselves back on Earth, forced
to defend it from an evil Digimon known as Myotismon. There they
discovered the eighth DigiDestined and her companion Digimon.
Eventually, the DigiDestined returned to the Digital World to battle
the Dark Masters. After the Digital World was saved, they said good-bye
to their digital friends before returning to the real world for good.
The
second
Digimon series was Digimon Adventure 02. This was set a few years
after the first series and introduced a new group of DigiDestined. They
traveled to and from the real and Digital Worlds. They battled the
Digimon Emperor. The old DigiDestined would show up to help and give
the younger kids advice. The Digimon Emperor was really just a
depressed young kid. He eventually joined the DigiDestined to battle
the true evil, Arukenimon. Eventually, both worlds were saved and
humanity lived in peace with Digimon.

The
third
Digimon series was Digimon Tamers. It was set in an alternate timeline
where Digimon was just a TV show, but the Digital World was still a
real place. Digimon crossed over into the real world and were monitored
by a government installation called Hypnos. Three kids bonded with
three Digimon to become Digimon Tamers. They defended the real world
from unfriendly Digimon. They were able to Digivolve their Digimon as
well as assist them using Digimon Cards to power them up. Eventually
their battle took them to the Digital World itself. A rogue computer
program, D-Reaper, threatened both worlds. The Tamers were able to
destroy this threat, but the battle forced them to say good-bye to
their Digimon. They could no longer exist in the real world and had to
return to the Digital world to live on. But the portal remained alive.
The
fourth
Digimon Series was Digimon Frontier. It was yet another alternate
timeline, one that saw five kids get magically sent to the Digital
World by Trailmon. This time the kids became Digimon themselves,
through the power of Spirit Evolution. They used their powers to battle
the evil Legendary Warriors, five Digimon that used similar spirits as
their power source. One of them was actually a human child who later
joined their side. In the end, they saved the Digital World from the
brink of extinction.
A
new Digimon
Series recently ended in Japan, named Digimon Savers. Once again set in
an alternate timeline, this series saw three teenagers join forces with
Digimon under a military organization defending the real world from
rogue Digimon crossing into their dimension. An American dub is
currently being rumored.
